10 things to do during this quarantine
I know that this is the moment where we all are stuck in our home. But the fact is, by being at home we’re saving our life as well as other’s life.
We all can fight against COVID 19 and I personally request each one of you to stay indoors and enjoy the beautiful world around you.
I am sure that it’s a tough time going on all around the world. But I am sure that this time is also going to get over very soon. All we need to do is- stay indoors, enjoy every bit of today, and have a heck lot of fun with our loved ones. For those who stay away from their home or parents, they can simply enjoy their work from home, catch up with their old friends socially, cook good food, or experiment with a few new recipes during this quarantine.

Staying at home is actually not a bad idea. In this way few things can definitely get decked up, starting from pampering the ‘me time’ or heading to arrange the shabby closet. I have 10 things to do in this current moment and if anyone who is still confused thinking about, what he or she should do during this quarantine.
So here I am sharing a few of my notions to keep yourself busy. So without any further ado let’s get started –
1. Cherish the family time
I know that this specific point is actually a little awkward for those who don’t stay at home or with their parents. But a quick disclaimer I would like to give to you guys that, this particular point is only for those who dwell with their parents. I will be sharing points for those who stay alone.
So here I go-
- Firstly help you, mum, in every aspect however you can. For example, doing the maid stuffs like jhadu (brooming) and pocha (mopping). Trust me that is going to give your mum a big relief from the entire day. Sharing this with my own personal experience 😉
- Eating your breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner together with your parents. It gives immense happiness I can’t even tell you guys.
- As we all have so much time to kill. You and your parent squad can definitely play something like Ludo or snakes or puzzles together. By doing this together you can also relive those good days where you and your sibling’s fight along with each other to win.
2. Reunite with old friends socially
Yes, this is a major thing , what you guys can do who don’t stay with the parents. I know that we all have a bunch of school and college friends with whom we have not been connected since ages.
So this is the best time to catch up with them and talk a lot about your life. I am so very thankful for the technology where we can easily catch up with old buddies by maintaining a social distancing.
In fact, you can also prefer a group video or voice call where more than 3 or 4 friends can connect together. All thanks to science and technology for creating something like this for us.
3. Do not forget the ‘me time’
Now here comes my personal favorite part 😍
You guys don’t have to think much about how to pamper yourself. It’s the time just to listen to those old quick vintage remedies which your mum carried from your naani.
All those stuff whatever you have in your vanity can work wonder for you. If someone who is out of every skincare essential can definitely check out the kitchen shelves were I am sure something fruitful is definitely gonna come out.
I am sharing a few of my favorite quarantine face mask with you guys.
face mask 1:
If you have Multani mitti ( fuller’s earth) powder in your home. Then take 2 tablespoons of fuller Earth and mix 2 tablespoons of rose water into it. Mix it well and apply it all over your face and neck.leave it on for 15 minutes and during that 15 minutes, you can definitely click some cute Instagram pictures for your story or feed.
After that rinse it off with lukewarm water. Immediately it will give your skin of plumped effect. Try using this face mask which is extremely affordable and best for skin during a staycation.
face mask 2:
If you have an aloe vera plant at your home. Then, my girl, you are never gonna face any problem regarding your skin and hair. I am sure nowadays out of 10,6 people own their aloe vera plant in their home.
If not a plant everyone can definitely use the readymade Aloe Vera gel which is quite easily available in the market. Those who have a plant they can cut a small section of the Aloe leaf. If you have an empty container to store then cut a full leaf and store it in a cool place.
Apply that gel all over your face and hair then leave it on until it does not soak up in your skin & hair. Yes, you can wash it off or leave it on it’s completely your own choice. It’s not going to harm your skin or hair anyway.
face mask 3:
Turmeric, honey, curd, and gram flour mask. You all might be thinking that I must be sharing some quick snacks recipe with you guys. No, these home ingredients are definitely going to change your skincare game. Now quickly let’s jump into what to do with these home ingredients-
- Take half a spoon of turmeric, one tablespoon of gram flour, one teaspoon honey and curd. Mix it well until it’s lump-free.
- Make the paste in a very thick consistency. So that if you apply it on your face it should not drip off from your face. Keep it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
- This process gives your skin elasticity, tightness, and also a subtle glow after repetitive use.
4. Clean your personal mess
Here personal mess as in, I am talking about cleaning your vanity, cleaning your shoes, washing those dirty makeup brushes and sponges.
Clean and start organizing your messed clothes. Arrange them according to the type. If you are feeling confused about how to arrange it, then go and check out YouTube. There are tons of videos related to your query. Don’t forget your shoes and heels, clean up those, arrange them according to the type of shoes you are having in your shoe rack.
5. Just Netflix and chill
This is the most used thing that, what we are currently doing during our quarantine. Not only Netflix there are tons of other amazing applications where you can just sit back ideal and kill your time.

6. List down some of your passion
Writing down your passion is so not trending nowadays. But as you have ample of time why can’t you just pen down your untold passion into the paper. As we all know passion doesn’t require age or cast or creed.
Keep calm and think that what can be best for you to pursue. In fact, this time is the ideal time to plan your personal, financial, professional, and spiritual goals. Sometimes the thought of killing time might give you a ray of hope for a great start. Cheers 🥂
7. Bring out the chef in you
I know that it’s a very tough time going on right now, as we cannot have our favorite delicacies during this Quarantine. But it’s never a bad idea to enhance the inner chef in you 🤔.
So don’t wait for anyone to be your chef, just get in your kitchen and make the best out of you. Show all your culinary skills by watching YouTube videos.
Imagine yourself participating in a MasterChef competition experimenting with all those gharelu (homely) ingredients which once seemed to be boring to you.
8. Explore a new book
Books are your best friends, how many of you have heard the statement from your parents when you were a kid? I am sure a thousand times you might have heard it. But after being an adult, heading to the corporate world. Many of us miss reading books, though we have a bunch of collections we don’t have enough time to go through it.
Well, this is the time to read those books which are lying on the bookshelf for years now. Grab your snacks and tea, sit down with your favorite book. Don’t categorize them with which one is motivating or romantic. I am telling you, grab any one of them, I am pretty sure after completing the book the smile on your face will be so satisfactory.

9. Workout and workout more
Yes, the workout can be the best way to motivate yourself. If you generally struggle with your workout routine or you aren’t able to cope up with your time schedule. Then, this quarantine is definitely going to change your workout routine for sure.
Just wake up anytime in the morning you don’t have to maintain a specific time but the best time to work out is early in the morning. Then quickly freshen yourself up and do some easy exercise. It is definitely going to increase your blood circulation and endorphins. Or else tune into some Bhangra music and start your desi aerobics. This is the best way to start your day.
10. Take enough rest
As it is very important to take sleep for at least good 7 to 8 hours. While going to the office every day many of you were not able to complete your proper sleep. So guys concentrate more on sleeping during this quarantine.
It not only gives rest to your body but it also gives a glow to your skin, also helps as anti-aging combat for your skin. This trick is not only for girls but boys as well. The more you sleep, the more your brain remains active the next day.

I know that very few of us get an opportunity like this to cherish moments which are spent with family and friends. I hope all of you who are not dwelling with your parents, please stay connected with them via phones and video calls. This will definitely make your and their day as well. We will not get this time again & yes I even know that the country has hit a big recession but as we all say “Jaan hai toh Jahan hai” (if there’s life, then there’s the world).
